I’m Joséphine

— French and German by passport, slightly chaotic by nature, and a jeweller in Jaipur by choice (and probably fate). I grew up in Germany speaking a mix of languages and dreaming in too many directions at once. I’ve always been drawn to beauty, creation, and art — sometimes gracefully, sometimes like a bull in a china shop.

My mission

My mission is to create truly bespoke, confidential jewellery that reflects the individuality of each client while also developing my own collection that embodies my aesthetic and creative philosophy. Every bespoke piece begins with a genuine dialogue — listening carefully to my clients’ wishes, needs, and taste, and blending them with my artistic vision.

I combine timeless design with impeccable craftsmanship, sourcing exceptional gemstones from trusted partners in Jaipur’s Johari Bazaar and collaborating with master goldsmiths and stone setters. Fairness and integrity are at the heart of my work: I offer honest prices, pay my artisans well, and uphold the highest standards of quality. Each creation — bespoke or from my collection — is crafted to celebrate authenticity, emotion, and beauty.

My journey

I’ve never done things the “normal” way. I’ve worked for auction houses, cosmetics companies, tea brands, and even ran my own label in Uzbekistan using handcrafted Silk Road fabrics. I can be intense, passionate, impatient, hypersensitive — all at once. But I also love deeply, work hard, and somehow keep finding the right people along the way.

Jewellery was my lifelong dream. I’ve always loved jewels — designing them, wearing them, staring at them for far too long.

When I arrived in Jaipur with Henry (my husband, best friend, and partner in adventure), heavily pregnant and probably slightly delusional, I decided to finally start. I found my now-business partner Kapil on Google — everyone told me not to — and of course, it turned out brilliantly. He became a friend, a brother, and an essential part of this wild story.

Now Henry and I have a daughter, Artemis, and a dream of living between India, the north of England, and Italy. We create, we dare, we argue, we laugh — and somehow, it all works.

Life in India is messy and magical. It suits me. I work every day with stones, designs, artisans, and a lot of chai — sometimes it flows, sometimes it explodes, but it’s always alive. I even wrote a memoir about Suzanne Belperron years ago, before I knew I’d one day follow a similar path.

Because life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. It just has to be yours. 💫
